Welcome to this diary of my experiences as I take part in the 2002 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Whilst I am involved in what will be a wonderful experience, I am able to support my chosen charity, "Dreams Come True" by donating half of all the money raised through this website. Please click here for more details. This website will be regularly updated during the build-up and also during the Race itself. The Race leaves Liverpool on 27 October 2002. There are eight identical boats, each boat bearing the name of its adopted city. The boats are crewed by fourteen non-professional sailors, many of whom had never set foot on a boat before the beginning of training. My own experience was little more than trips across the channel to stock up on beer. Not any more! For full details of the Race, click on the link to the Clipper Ventures website. |
